1. Purpose and importance
The trust Homeowners place in TraIDCred depends on the honesty of the Credentials submitted. This Fraud & Misrepresentation Policy prohibits fraudulent and misleading submissions and describes TraIDCred's rights to respond. It is central to protecting Homeowners and the integrity of the word "Verified."
2. Definitions of prohibited acts
For purposes of this Policy:
(a) Forgery — creating or submitting a fabricated document, or one made to appear issued by an authority, insurer, or body that did not issue it.
(b) Alteration — editing a genuine document to change its meaning, dates, holder, limits, status, or scope.
(c) Material Misrepresentation — any false or misleading statement or omission about identity, business ownership, licensing, insurance, certifications, or qualifications that could affect a Homeowner's decision or a Review outcome.
(d) Impersonation / Misuse — submitting or using another person's or business's Credentials or identity, or representing a business you are not authorized to represent.
3. Prohibited
You must not commit, attempt, or assist any act in Section 2. You must not present an expired, revoked, cancelled, or not-in-force Credential as current, and you must promptly update or remove any Credential that becomes inaccurate.
4. Detection and Review rights
4.1 TraIDCred reviews Credentials manually and may, in its discretion: request original documents or additional information; request re-submission or re-verification; place a status Under Review; and decline to Verify or revoke a prior Verified status.
4.2 Reserved right to confirm. TraIDCred may (but does not currently commit to) contact an issuing authority, board, insurer, or certifying body to confirm a Credential where it has a reasonable basis to do so. Any such practice, if adopted, will be disclosed and conducted consistent with applicable law. As of the Effective Date, TraIDCred does not perform source confirmation (see the Verification Standard).
5. Consequences
5.1 A confirmed or reasonably suspected violation may result in any of the following, alone or in combination: Rejection of the Credential; revocation of verification status; termination of the Badge license; suspension or termination of the Account; removal or un-publishing of the Public Profile; and retention of records as evidence.
5.2 Reporting. Where TraIDCred has a reasonable, good-faith belief, based on the facts available to it, that a violation involves unlawful conduct, it may report factual information about the matter to law enforcement, a licensing board, an insurer, or another appropriate party, and may cooperate with lawful investigations. TraIDCred will limit any such report to factual information and will not publish accusations of wrongdoing.
5.3 Good-faith action. TraIDCred may take the actions in this Policy in good faith to protect the Services, Users, and the public, subject to the limitations of liability in the Terms of Service.
6. Rejected Credentials are private
Rejected Credentials and their contents are not displayed on the Public Profile. A Tradesperson whose Credential is Rejected will be shown a corrective prompt and may request the general reason for the Rejection by contacting support@traidcred.com. TraIDCred does not publish Rejection reasons.
7. Appeals and reinstatement
A Tradesperson may contest a determination or seek reinstatement as described in the Account Suspension & Termination Policy.
8. Governing law
This Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Utah and is subject to the governing-law and dispute-resolution provisions of the Terms of Service.
