1. Scope

This Verification Badge Usage Policy ("Badge Policy") governs a Tradesperson's display and use of the TraIDCred Badge and any statement of TraIDCred verification status, whether on the Services, on the Tradesperson's own website or materials, or on third-party platforms. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service.

2. Limited license to use the Badge

2.1 Subject to this Badge Policy and the Terms, TraIDCred grants each Tradesperson a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to display the Badge and an accurate statement of the Tradesperson's current TraIDCred verification status solely to reflect that status truthfully and only while the Account is active and in good standing.

2.2 The Badge and Marks remain the exclusive property of TraIDCred. No other rights are granted by implication or estoppel.

3. Accurate use only

3.1 A Tradesperson may display the Badge or a verification statement only in a manner that is truthful and consistent with the Tradesperson's actual, current status as defined in the Verification Standard. A Tradesperson must not:

(a) display a Badge or status the Tradesperson does not currently hold;

(b) alter, distort, recolor, animate, or modify the Badge, or combine it with other marks in a way that implies a different or higher level of verification;

(c) use the Badge or any TraIDCred statement to imply that TraIDCred guarantees, certifies, endorses, warrants, or recommends the Tradesperson or its work, or that any license or insurance is currently valid or in force; or

(d) use wording prohibited by the Verification Standard (including "guaranteed," "certified," "endorsed," "warranted," "continuously valid," "safest," or "recommended") in connection with the Badge or TraIDCred.

3.2 Acceptable and prohibited wording examples are set out in the Verification Standard and are incorporated here by reference.

4. Currency and automatic revocation

4.1 The license in Section 2 terminates automatically, without notice, if the Tradesperson's Account is closed, suspended, or terminated, or if the relevant status lapses, expires, is revoked, or is Rejected. Upon termination, the Tradesperson must stop using the Badge and the affected status statement and remove them from materials within the Tradesperson's reasonable control.

4.2 Printed and offline materials. A printed QR code that links to a Public Profile resolves to the then-current live status and is self-correcting. However, any printed or fixed statement of status (for example, "Fully Verified" printed on a flyer) may become inaccurate over time; the Tradesperson is responsible for not distributing or continuing to display inaccurate printed status statements. TraIDCred is not responsible for materials outside its control.

5. Enforcement

5.1 TraIDCred may, in addition to any other remedy in the Terms, require a Tradesperson to cease Badge use, revoke the license, remove or disable Badge display on the Services, and pursue trademark and other remedies for misuse.

5.2 Misuse of the Badge may also constitute a violation of the Acceptable Use Policy and the Fraud & Misrepresentation Policy.

6. Reservation and changes

6.1 TraIDCred may update the Badge design, this Badge Policy, and any brand guidelines from time to time; material changes will be versioned. Continued use of the Badge after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Badge Policy.

7. Governing law

This Badge Policy is governed by the laws of the State of Utah and is subject to the governing-law and dispute-resolution provisions of the Terms of Service.
